Thats old news unless youre talking about the restoration of the old lanes ? This means fresh asphalt in both directions now?

A short but nice presentation of M43 motorway that links Szeged to the Romanian border.

Presentation available on the facebook page of the Hungarian road company

I already drove on it a couple of times. It has full shoulder, like all motorways in Hungary do (about 3 m wide, paved with asphalt).

Text in box on the map: "Medium-term planned public road projects".

Text of post above: "In the 48 hours to come, road construction tenders in a volume of 1'200 billion HUF, as well as the tender for refurbishment of Budapest metro line 3 in the volume of 125 billion HUF will be published.

[URL]

And the most recent map:"

I though it says that in the next 48 hours, the coloured motorway sections from the map will be completed and opened to traffic

Why is the Horgos 2 border crossing closed for vehicles ? Only tractors, pedestrians and bikes are allowed now.

Is the M1 Győr bypass tolled? I remember that bypasses of cities were not tolled, but I can't find any official information.
Is there a map with tolled roads?

Yes, it is tolled. Like every other motor/expressway in Hungary -except parts of M0 and M86 (M85 will be tolled from 2016).
Here are the toll roads from 1/1/2015:

About tolls, why are they so much expensive in Hungary?

I mean the anual e-vignette is 136€ while in Austria for example it is 85€ for 2016... it doesn't encourage travelers to buy the annual one.... while the weekly fee is almost the same in Austria and Hungary...

You forget our glorious country-vignettes: 15 EUR/year/county. Actually its quite good, I saved about 60 EUR with this -bought 5 county vignettes for this year, instead of an annual.

Yes, good idea!

But they should study more the statistics of their vignette, I'm sure that they would sell a lot more of annual vignette even if people don't really need it (i.e. like me, I bought the austrian anual vignette not because it would be cheaper for me but because it is a gain of time and simpler for me... )

This year I bought 3 county vignettes (5k HUF x 3) and three 10-day vignettes (3k HUF x 3) so i payed a bit more than half of the annual one and used the motorways every week or every second week.

Though I admit, everyone has his/her own preferences and needs so it's just one example.
