Yes it is, but the motorway is called M7.

Great report on the M7 though. I wonder how long it takes before Szeged is not the only direction signed anymore for the directions across the Danube. (like Miskolc, Debrecen, etc.)

The signs lead you to the M0. At the moment through M0 only M5 (and main road 4 [Future M4]) is reachable. After M0 is compeleted between Mani road 4 and M3 I think this will change, but until then, only Szeged is the only larger city conncected to M1 directly on motorway.

In Hungary always 2 names written on the signs, Hungarian and the foreign (like Bécs-Wien, Zágráb-Zagreb, Pozsony-Bratislava, Munkács-Мукачево, etc). Of course only one when the Hungarian name is the same as the foreign like in case of Ljubljana or Arad

Great pics, Qtya!

Actually, there are 2 : Árád - Arad

Unless the signs were changed in the meantime, of course.

What's the status of the M0 between M4 and M3? (Budapest eastside). According to wikipedia it should be completed "halfway 2008", is it already completed?

It will be completed this autumn, hopefully together with the Northern Danube bridge. Unfortunately I can't find an exact date...

How long and how high is that viaduct, and how is it called? Is it on the newest part of the M7? I'm asking, cause I haven't seen it before, but the crashbarrier isn't exactly Radi-style.

This is the Kőröshegy viaduct. Its 1872m long between the 2 dilatation parts,88m is the highest point, measured from the ground.

I can give you the technical details,as I have a book about it.

for example:
a single pillar
-was built in 112 days
-took 187 days to completely finish, including crane disassembly.
-and a lot of others that I cant translate

This section was opened about a year ago, maybe in last August. The crashbarriers therefore have lost their shine The motorway maintenance company should polish them regularly

So it is Kőröshegy after all. I don't remember it from this angle, but of course I would've heard of it, if you were building sth like that. And I agree about the motorway maintenance - inconsistent.

that viaduct is ******* waste of money.

here is the longitudinal section:
http://roads.extra.hu/road_plans/m7_...szarszo_hm.jpg

this section could've been built without viaduct far more cheaper on an other alignment...

we've built this viaduct for 200million EUR, but we have no money for a ******* roudabout for years.

this is total insane.
