Sorry for OT: there's a short 1+1 motorway (with hard shoulders) in Switzerland SE of Bern, going for Langnau (the middle route for Luzern). Quite stupid, if you ask me.

If he meant that, the answer is yes (N33 for instance)

We have two expressions. Autópálya and autóút.
Autópálya must be 2+2 lanes, 130 kph speed limit. Exaple for autópálya: M1, M3, M5, M6, M7, M30, M35.
Autóút could be 1+1 or 2+2 lanes, 110 kph speed limit (sometimes lower in busy sections), a bit lower standards. For exaple: M0, M2, M15, M9, sections of national road 4 (future M4).

N33 doesn't have a median. The N50 has median + one lane per direction + emergency lanes + slow trucks = irritated traffic.

Yes in hungarian is quiet obvious, when you say "AUTÓPÁLYA" it is a motorway and when you say "AUTÓÚT" than it´s a little bit less of a standard.
and yes here I can mention the danish "MOTORTRAFIKVEJ". No doubt what so ever.

"Motortrafikvej" is quite a tongue twister
Would Autóút be comparable to a Polish S-road?

1 million dollars question???
Can vi have a so called motorway with maybe just an expressway standard?
Here I mean not a shield like M ,D or A something but an actual name for a section and this actual road has a "name" as motorway but when you see it it´s only something else! maybe a 4 laned mainroad!

Will Hungary continue to build from Budapest to southern Slovakia?

I have seen on google maps that small parts are finished.

I see there is road called 2/A up to Vac, maybe it will be converted to M2 and extended to Slovakia, they also plan to build expressway there

Yes, I've travelled on S7 on the Chyzne-Kraków route and it is definitely an Autóút

actually, that is M2. it is 2+2 and 1+1 expressway. it ends north of Vác (where merging with road 12 and becoming road 2).

Slovakia has not decided where they want to build the R3, so either the will be continued to the North or the R3 will end in a new Danube bridge near Stúrovo and Esztergom, which will continue as towards Budapest.

There will be built both probably. But, in far future. This is not question now since traffic densities on I/66 (E77) and I/76 don't require construction of the expressways.

Yeah, I think bypasses were enough on the Hungarian section North of Vác. The has to be built anyway to Esztergom, a new bridge is planned anyway so it would be reasonable to build the Slovakian expressway there.
