The elevator cores around the perimeter might allow easy evacuation for the rooftop swimming pools on the 100+ foot tall podium buidling. It looks like most of the core's interiors are taken up with stairs. They might be used for structural reasons as well. I'm sure that the 1 acre pool/lake will be a tad bit heavy.

And thanks for the pictures everyone! Awesome.

Still no glass yet.

Starting to look pretty dense over there. Sales center in the foreground.

Here you can see developing what will be the narrowest section of the Strip between towers.

Nice update.
That Trump tower is stunning. I'll hope they start soon building the second one.

Man, snooze you lose. I have pics of Fontainebleau from the same day! I have not gotten around to posting them though. From slightly different vantage points. Maybe I'll put them up anyway. Thanks for posting them Mark, great pics. I was out for CES and was really hoping they would throw up a window or two while I was out there. I have pics of the staging area across the street from the Sahara, next to the Hilton Grand Vacations Club and there is no glass sitting out there either so I guess they're still a little ways away. (Lots of steel though for the convention center/parking garage.)

Hey Mark,
Finally got around to posting the pics. They are from the same day you took yours. Just from a different perspective.

From across the street at Sky:

Massive elevator cores:

Sales center entrance in the back of the little building across the street:

I think the spaces between the vertical pillars will be split up into multiple rooms. You can see steel wall framing cutting things up in there. I thought I read somewhere that the rooms will be good sized though.

Is the glass going on yet? I'm dying to see what it will look like.

GLASS

Southeast corner of the tower

Here's where they stack it after unloading it from the trucks.

They stage it on this rack before lifting it in place.

Wow Mark! Awesome. They have so much glass staged already. It looks like it will go on quickly. I forgot that the bottom floors are so seamless. I think only the top 15 or so floors of condos will have balconies. I thought the glass would be more reflective like the Wynn but it looks more like the shade of blue of its neighbor across the street. Should be quite a sight driving north, looking between both those blue buildings sitting all the way out on the strip.

Thanks so much for posting!

Wow!
Glad it's just a minor fire.
I wonder if these things happen sometimes or if you were trully lucky to shoot that ?

Thanks for the very detailled pics BTW

The concrete floor slabs in the convention center/parking garage section are all pre fabricated and not poured in place.
