Great!

The pepole of Malmö has something new to look forward to. The new tower is not as special as Turning torso but it will complemet it good. It´s a shame that there are located so far from eachother. It´s about 6 - 7 km, but it will look nice from a distance.

This will be the eyecatcher for the new Hyllievång area. And another finger to the pepole on the other side of the bridge.

I hope that the danish architechts will soon be able to give the skyline of Copenhagen a new Building. I think they deserve it.

This area is the future of scandinavia and we´re already seeing the benefits.

Give it up for Malmö skyline, closing in to be the best in northern Europe!

Malmö marching forward while the rest of scandinavia is crawling the gutter. Well, great for you guys; let's hope this babe actually gets built. As usual; I'm not that much of a fan; but I guess that's the style we build in up here in the cold north. I should wish we were all so progressive.

It is very nice! How big is the metropolitan area of Malmo?

Approximately 615 000 inhabitants. We then count Malmö and its surrounding suburbs and towns that are located in Sweden.

The whole Metropolitan Öresund Region (Northern Zeeland + Scania) has more than 3 million inhabitants.

It seems like it is going to built in the middle of nowhere. Would fit better in a waterfront location.

The Malmö Tower is impressive. I am suprised that this medium-sized city is doing so much more than Gothenburg or Stockholm in terms of skyscrapers. I visited Malmö for the America's Cup a year ago and was very impressed by its harbor, it definitely has potential.

What's the point of building such tall towers in small towns like Malmö? In my mind skyscrapers belong in clusters in big, populous cities. One (or now 2) tall towers in a small town like this will only look strange. How great or beautiful a city is isn't measured by how tall the tallest buildings are. Are Malmö having a small-town-complex after the construction of the Öresund bridge?

that's my humble opinion.

The tower has a nice design, but I don't like the fact that it will be (as it was already the case with Turning Torso) all by itself, only surrounded by lowrise buildings.

I congratulate Malmo for having the balls (as one of the few European cities) to support highrise living, but why can't they all build them in one cluster. It would look so much better.

Have you heard of supply and demand? I mean it wouldnt get buildt if there wasnt any demand, just look at TT it was doomed by the press even before planning stage because of Malmoe being a small city but there was a demand hence it got built. Now all apartments have tenants if im not wrong.

A building like this is very profitable for those who owns the property and the building, you can sell many more appartments in a 216m tall building than in a building that have a height in proportion to the surrounding buildings. If there is a demand it doesn't necessarily mean that it should be built.

Meby The Netherlands wil built a tower of 262m. It will come in Utrecht. The name: Belle van Zuylen. It's not sure if this building will come. It won't be al living, the most space if for office.

Looks nice. I`m really impressed by all the construction going on in this city. I didn`t know of it`s existence until I saw the turning torso. (I hope nobody gets ofended for my ignorance) I love this city now!

Sweden not. Let's not generalise. Malmö YES, but Sweden as a country definitely not. Sweden must be the craddle of NIMBY and "go nature" mentality.
I'm glad for Malmö, I foresee a grand future for this quite "unscandinavian" city with its cocky attitude (which I like). Malmö is quite big in Scandinavian standards, At least 615 000 inhabitants in its metropolitan area and it takes a while from entering the city's border by train until you reach its central station, so little it isn't. I love Malmö.
