Great! I love this structure, it's definitely eye-catching and it looks like a medina gate. Looks quite big also from this view.

Maybe we don't understand each other, but from what I know they're still using the old station

Thanks Karim for the answer, it could be. I'm sure the agenda of the King is overbooked, they're waiting for him..

It will open in September which is 2 weeks from now. I hope the new Casa-Port will look good. I wish they could remodel Casa-Voyageurs cause it's been looking the same way for like 30 years now.

Sure! They will renew Casa Voyageurs but they can't do it now, they have to wait until the end of the works of Casa Port!

Ah ok, so it's a new station, located near to the old one ?

I though it was just the old station that has been renovated completely

It's the same station that was extended, the old one was pretty small for a city like Marrakesh. Especially knowing there is a plan to have the TGV in 10 years which means a lot more traffic especially from Casablanca.

I think casa voyageurs has been looking the same for a lot longer than 30 years. However, as one of the two major stations in Casa, it's quite surprising that there have been no renovation plans communicated.

Having said that, Casablanca's TGV station is planned in the south (where the aerodrome d'anfa is) it's to be Called Gare Casa-Sud.

That's not correct. The old station is a whole other building on the side of the rail tracks, while the new station is built at the end of the tracks.

Anyway, I think a city the size and glamour of Marrakech deserves a station like this, but seen the fact that today still only ONE TRAIN arrives at - and departs from - the city EVERY TWO HOURS it remains a lonely stop for trains. Only a combination of things will really bring more rail traffic to Marrakech, like trains running more frequently, new lines (like to agadir and further) and the (still) imaginary TGV.
So, for now this new built station is actually just made more commercial and more attractive (for tourists to look at).

I totally agree with you. I dont know why ONCF doesn't invest in a regional network to link MRK to the cities around it (ouarzazate among others)

J'ai une question, est-ce que la ligne Settat-Marrakech est électrifié ou pas ? quand-est-il de Sidi Kacem - Tanger ?

Merci
