The project is very much alive, and listed as a project for which Dongwon will sell units this civil year.

As to the renders and the height, you can forget about the previous pictures. These were from the Solomon project and Dongwon will likely come up with an entirely new designs.

There are reports that the new building could be in the 500-600m range, but they're not backed by strong sources.

So just keep that it mind : Project is well alive, will use a new design, and might actually be taller than what was planned by Solomon.

But at this point, there are still a LOT of unknowns.

The upper part looks a bit like burj Khalifa, but it's nice

Well, apparently this is the rendering for the previous WBC Tower proposed in 2005.

I wouldn't mind if this was built, though. Looks like a better version of the One Vanderbilt Place proposal in New York, which is especially gratifying considering that this one was proposed first.

Sia Plan has announced that it has won the rights to design the tower.

It's a good sign because Sia Plan has pretty much been the only Korean architectural firm to design supertall skyscrapers.

Not much additional information at this point

Tough call... My opinion would be to leave it this way for now. Of course we know the final project won't be named "WBC Solomon Tower" and have Dongwon somewhere in the name, but at this point, we don't know the actual name, height, floor count, etc... Changing name right now might mislead some people into thinking that the name is final, and the height officially 408, which it is not.

So if it was up to me I'd wait a bit till we get a new design or specs..., but if you feel otherwise, feel free to ask for a thread name edit.

Also, do you have any idea how long it will take for Sia Plan to come up with its design? I know that you know more than me.

Hopefully they will do something with those concrete shells across the street that have sit there for over 15 years.

There you go

I'm NOT sure that this is the final, official render. There is an assumption that the Busan government will not allow projects under 100 floors, but this restriction might have been relaxed, so it's hard to know. And this render comes out of the blue, without any sources. Is it the final plan? Some leaked old render? Tough to know for sure if this is for sure, couldn't find articles about the project featuring this render.

If that is (again, big if) the final render, that would be a 2-building project, topping at 70 floors. That would probably put the height between 260m and 290m.

Here are the renders for the project.

Twin-buildings with a catwalk on top, for a height probably in the 300-350 range (over 80 floors)

Not much else is known at this point.
