^heh.

Nice. Winter Park has a lovely charm to it... probably my favorite Central Florida city. I hope to see more development like this...

That's quite a bit of stuff going up. I don't know that I'd recognize the place.
Keep us updated.

These Winter Park developments are wonderful--I especially like the Douglass Grande and the Landmark. It would be nice to see more of this kind of midrise construction in the Orlando city limits. Winter Park is truly one of Florida's treasures.

Just like Hyde Park in Tampa without the Tampa City Council.

Very nice.

JW Marriott slated to go adjacent to Regent Residences on former site of the Langford Hotel. 250 rooms with spa and meeting rooms.

Excellent - good to get that sort of thing away from the normal locations

I wonder if the residents around Interlachen will come out in opposition of the JW...i could see them trying to kill this like they did the Carlyle project.

Park Place (pictured above as the last photo in my prior thread) was the subject of much local scorn last year.

Panera Bread opened up over a year ago in the NE corner. Since then, the other four retail parlors have landed tenants as well:

1. There's a European antique furnishings retailer which sells antique furnishings from all over the world.

2. There's a wine & cheese shop

3. Jacobson's moved from down the street into the building; much smaller though

4. There's a pop-culture memorabilia shop as well; for example, they sell Yoda's gimmer stick in the 5-digit range for all you Star Wars buffs.

so, as of the holiday season 2008, Park Place is a success in light of this bad economy.

Also, there's a construction wall at the old Jacobson's location; I gather they will bisect it into multiple retail units.

As of now, Park Ave. retail seems to be doing strong. I can't believe I live in WP and this weekend was the first time I was on Park Ave. in several months. That's what happens when you work and dwell in downtown Orlando too much...

the hotel proposal for the site next to Regent Residences at Interlachen and New England, the Alfond (sp), which is partly a Rollins College project, is u/c. It was originally supposed to be a Regent Hotel and then a JW Marriott I think.

There's a Planning & Zoning Board meeting on 9-11-12 for The Residences at Winter Park Village, at 940 West Canton Ave, which is at the SW corner of Canton & Denning. Four story, 206 unit complex with attached 360-space garage.

I'm very excited about this project. It will add good density to the neighborhood. I guess there will be more details on what the facade will resemble at the meeting.
