I wonder why they didn't choose a more lake-front location? Maybe they wanted the tower to be in the middle of the financial district where all the money is made

They need to pull down the Gardener highway ... put it underground ... and take downtown Toronto all the way to Lake Ontario

Pretty Eurocentric comment. "Toronto and surrounds"'s history extends further back than European settlement; Iroquois and Huron tribes have lived in this area for centuries.

Well yeah that's what I meant ... European arrival ... same thing in Australia ... Europeans arrived in 1788 BUT the Indigenous people have lived here for 40,000+ years.

Exactly. Thus Toronto's history, and Montreal's too, extends back thousands of years

I wouldn't care to much if it fits in with other buildings aslong as it looks the part!

Lookin/Up, next time you see an Iroquis longhouse or Huron/Algonquian wigwam in Toronto or Montreal, can you let me know? I'm dying to see one, but I never can seem to find them. Political correctness = Intelligence?

Does assuming what happened before Europeans arrived in North America not to be part of our history = Intelligence?

Well - the present location doesn't allow much in terms of views for most units. There's still a lot of land available near the financial district but with a bit more space.

Yea - if they moved the tower 2 blocks east the views would be far better!

It's unfortunate when one's concept of history is limited to exclusively what one can see and touch.

No, something like that would fit well in Dubai.
