looks great! Reminds me of the big theater/conventionbuilding in Brugge somehow, why?, must be the mass and colouring I guess.

What a perfect building for its use, and that cool red tile pattern.

Looks alot better to me than the model. Can't wait to walk in our new beautiful museum!

I'm liking this project more and more.
Too bad Antwerp has this ridiculous height limitation because of its airport.
This building might have been taller.

THanx for the response so far everyone! I've been away for a month or so, but now I'm back in full force so more updates to come very soon.

Meanwhile, Belgian member theonot, who has a great view of the project from the left bank, has made this series of wider shots, showing the evolution of the project (red outlines=MAS):

summer 2005, old warehouse not demolished yet :

march 2007, groundworks completed, construction is about to start:

summer 2007, gigantic cruiseship passing by:

9 september 2007 :

23 september 2007, core is at level 3 (today almost level 4, still a long way to go):

How it will look (not perfectly edited, but gives a good idea):

Rendering with another tower U/C:

update

update october 8th (notice the beautiful Belgian weather :p)

core reaching level 4

grand quay on one side near completion (trees will be added later):

work on the smaller quay on the other side has begun:

furthermore, construction on the naerby Westkaai project, consisting of 6 towers, has begun. Take a look at a thread about it in the Belgian forum:

they added a steel support for the first floor, which 'hangs' above the ground (see the drawing in post 1):

For the first time in a week, it wasn't raining, so I went for some pictures.

The core is now 24m, or 4 floors. The side pavillions have reached their final height:

First floor is finished, the hanging part of the second floor will be on the other side, hence the steel structure:

another impression I made:

An animated gif to show you the construction progress at MAS. The core is now at level 4. Still a long way to go as the top will reach 10 levels or 60 meters (see the red lines to have an idea of the floor configuration).
