In aleosan, I think we call ant depending on color...correct me if I'm wrong although generally, we call it "subay"...

red ant (the one with a nasty bites)- lasga
red ant (tree dwelling)- pala
black ant- guyom
gray ant- bahaw-bahaw

My housemates are from Roxas City and we always argue about the term..."nahulog"...which is "nalagbong" kananda. Bisan papel nahulog, lagbong man gihapon sa ila. Kuon ko, indi pwede lagbong kay lagtik huni na...ang lagbong tana, lagbong ana huni.

Tapos, panawag nanda sa linugaw (ang para sa birthday bala), "wit-wit". Kadlaw pa akon kay sayod pamati-an, ha ha ha....

Di ang lagbong kag lagapak, daw isa man lang. Iba man tani ang lagtik. Daw ginpa-dipyasan ka lang tana ka ra para maghambal ka nga lagtik.

I've heard from many people that Hiligaynon is the most pleasing to the ears among Filipino dialects. Does anyone have a video or song of this spoken? I'm very curious to hear what it sounds like.

Also, is Ilongo the same as Hiligaynon? Haha, I'm a bit confused.

Ilonggo is the people of Iloilo and anybody with blood relations traced back from Iloilo.

Hiligaynon (sometimes termed as "Ilonggo" as well) is the dialect of Iloilo people (Ilonggo).
