ROME | Green Tower | 130m | Canceled

A new skyscraper has been approved in Rome. It's a residential tower designed by Jean Marc Schivo. It will be a bio-climatic building, fully respecting sustainability standards (photovoltaic cells, rainwater recovery, natural ventilation, microclimate regulation, double walls, wide terraces, greenhouse on the top...). This reduces with 70% the environmental pollution compared to a traditional building of the same volume.

It will become a great landmark for the people arriving in Rome from the Leonardo Da Vinci airport.

That helipad on the top and crown are atrocious. Commuting by helicopter is not exactly "green".

This looks great I thought it was being built in the center of the city for a second before it said it would be near the airport.

The tower would be 130m!

there are other 5 towers that will be realized in Roma for the next years, from 100 till 160 m. But most of all, should be residential towers as this one.

Looks like a very nice tower. But, the helipad on top makes it look funny. They should get rid of that. Otherwise I love the design.

I don't like the mix of claddings they will use because it looks messy, however, the green balconies are nice and it will add some character to the building. Is this close to E.U.R.?

Great to see some 'talls' going up in Rome. I have to agree with most other posts, helipad needs to go. Looks dated compared to the rest of the tower.

looks like something from transport tycoon or sim city. Not a bad design... just looks a bit messy towards the top. Nothing wrong with the helipad in my opinion, just the bit in between that and the rest of it.

I like it. It wears it's functionality (the green features - photo-voltaic panels, green balconies, etc.) on it's sleeve, so it a way, it's like a structurally expressive tower (re: John Hancock) that instead of expressing it's structure expresses it's environmental friendliness.

And for some reason, the helipad doesn't bother me. Perhaps that's because I'm from L.A., where every building is required to have one, so I guess I'm used to them.
