the only people probably walking with no car would be the people who live in south park. So probably be then their would be more residents in downtwon L.A

You're not missing anything at this point. There's not a lot of activitiy at the site of the hotel right now, but there's plenty of activity within the rest of the LA Live site. As soon as that changes - which should be shortly - you can be sure we will document it.

I talked to one of the engineers on site, it looks like footings will start beginning of june, as of today survayors are shooting elevations for compleation of the excavation, and relocation of the ramp into the hole.

Thanks for the info, TICON. When they start the footings, this thing will be officially under construction, IMO. A month isn't too long to wait, I guess. In the meantime, it'll be fun watching the Club Nokia building rise.

It will rise very soon, then!

The design is great and it looks so tall. The bad thing is i dont know if it will look lonely there..

I'm thinking 3 tower cranes will be used to put this one up, (it should lose a crane when the "wing" is topped out), and it won't be to lonely as there is a 25 story office building, in the 350' to 400' range in the planning stages to go up across Olympic blvd. to the east.

Interesting. Do you have any more info on that office tower - developer, location, render? Is this a new announcement?
