I like this building! it's efficient and original and got a middle east influence design in it to fit the place.

Well, they need to find a main contractor and for that they need financing. Same goes for all other projects at this stage (pentominium, burj al alam, etc).

^you would think the lighthouse people would have no trouble aquiring a contractor as its a special design and will be a definitive landmark.i reckon maybe over the next 12months they will get lucky

Tha pattern in the middle is the logo of the DIFC (Dubai International Finance Center) where the tower is located and which Authority is the developer.

If they haven't found the main contractor/financing, why are they still doing pilling?

I think for any building in Dubai specially, if piling is going on it should not have the status of U/C.
Its true for many cases!

I was the first to discover this building in 2006 I think, in the Cityscape Dubai. I remember seeing a render posted on ATKINS's booth and started taking picture of it, and this Asian guy in suit comes and tells me that would be copyright infringement and stuff. I had a small chat with him and when I asked if that was for real or just a concept design, he seamed touched and offended and said "Of course it's real ..."

Only months later we started digging some info about the tower.

To bad the crisis effected it.
