nice job dubai! theyve managed to make everyone think this is new cutting edge design, when most should see its just a copy of john hancock center. its even got X's throughout the structure. damn this building makes me sick to look at.

The Xs on the tower are actually the DIFC logo. I think it's cool how they've managed to incorparate this into the design. Normally this type of thing results in the tackiness factor increasing but it's the opposite here.

I just say what I feel, its so simple.
Its ugly anyways, but if I only just disliked the design I wouldnt have said anything. if a mod doesnt want negative posts about a tower they should say it, until then thats my opinion, thanks.

yes it looks JUST like the john hancock tower. theyre both black, they both have occupiable floors all the wya up to the top of the building, theyre both the same thickness, they both have the same eco-friendly design, they both have antennas at the top, theyre both the same height, and they both have the same facade.

As malec said, those "X braces" are not structural elements, they are the logo of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

... I still don't understand though how Rizzato came to the conclusion that this building ressambles the Hancock Centre in any way.

Perhaps it was the basic 2D shape. Wait this is far less la chucky.

I reckon they put the hole John Hancock Tower through one of those new giant 3D replicator machines out of Star Trek and plopt it down in the middle of Dubai

I cant believe i didnt see this one before, a beauty

John Hancock tower and this one has about as much resemblance as any two kubic skyscrapers in the world. Your have to overlook almost all architechtural elements to call them similiar :O
