This tower is stranger, but is very futuristic. Only a bad thing, the last 100 or 150 meters don't have habitable floors, isn't? It's a waste of space of the tower, but it doesn't matter, the tower looks great.
It isn't a waste of space, three huge wind turbines are up there to produce electricity for the tower.

That air ventilation system seems pretty smart. Strange if not all skyscrapers in Dubai have their air-intakes high up...

When do people expect this building to be finished?

Those are NOT air ventilation systems, those are electricity producing wind turbines

I believe he was refering to the ventilation diagram above. My initial reaction was to laugh too though, lol.

I hope they start soon. if they start 2008, it will not be finished until 2011 or 2012 or maybe longer. but then, the DIFC area combined with SZR will look literaley like a city from space.

Ofcourse On the atkins brochure it shows how they will infiltrate the cold air high up and exfiltrate at the bottom. I was commenting that I thought it was strange that this was not normal practise in such warm countries.

For what I know, usually the intake units of the A/C systems are on top.
