All evidence is pointing towards 808m, anyone who doesn't beleive that is just kidding themselves and hoping for sumthing taller. 1011m? its jsut speculation from these boards. 808m is what the tower SHOULD be. its 1/2 a mile and 300m taller than the current tallest. surely thats good enough.

the Burj Dubai will be the first in the new breed of high rise towers. it wont be the tallest for very long, probably under 5 years, but it will be the most signifigant skyscraper of the new millenium because it was the first to dare to go where no other skyscraper would.

That symbolism cannot be considered serious evidence. The best evidence we have in favour of the 808m figure are the documents and inside sources from Besix.

I'm surprised nobody has noticed yet that in the 808m powerpoint presentation there are 181 floors before the pinnacle, bright as day in all the diagrams!

only good things you can see is that on that image you can clearly see that the top wall has been thinned as well as the right wall, with only the left wall section to follow.

(p.s. cheers for the correction Culwulla)
can you not see the dashed / arrow to show they have removed some of the diagram for illustration purposes! take another look at that diagram!

The image was taken from this presentation.
"The Burj Tower Presentation - Oct. 05.ppt"
The link to it online was found using google news about 6 months back.
Pg 28 I think.
I can't remember what the web address is for it... maybe somebody has it bookmarked?

I think that Burj Dubai will an awsome tower, it doesn't matter the height of the tower, because whatever it is the height it will break records.

compare to the worker, this is at least 2.5m which is easily enough for small dhows to be run there, similar to madinat jumeirah, the water there is 2.2m deep.

aside we don't know how high the surrounding promenade will be, look at the old town at the back, it has some kinda station which is elevated over the future water level.
