Ember, I'm not trying to say that this building will be 1km for sure. I'm merely stating that with the secrecy as evidenced by Skytower's interview, none of us know for sure the final height including that 808m figure. The building can very well reach, for example, 845m. We do not know the exact height. I am not holding to 808m. I'm definitely holding to greater than 800m.

I for one am waiting to see how high the concrete core actually goes. Soon enough we all will know, so I am excercising a wait and see approach.

An Egyptian and Singaporean architect at the Abu Dhabi Municipality where i work claim that The Slabs from level - 0 - to level - 10 - of the Burj Dubai are facing major deflection problems and have caused the consruction to be decreased to 20% ...... ill have a talk with them tomorrow since they were in the middle of discussing some major AD projects with clients

I hope that this is some gossip, not a fact. It would be such a pity!

It doesnt look that construction has decreased much. They still build a floor every 3-4 days, and they never build it in less than three days. It takes them more time now to lift the rebar 440 meters high and also to pump concrete so high. Was just wondering: How much time needs a crane to lift one load from ground to top? 2 min, 3min? Its quite a long way...

great update Imre as always. Espiecially the close up of the core top.
Gonna be interesting to see how it looks when the wing starts on the first part of the core reconfiguration.
