Hi all.
134 levels ... I am in no way saying or even thinking about something bad happening to the mighty Burj. When I was younger I was so fascinated by the tower in the movie Towering Inferno. I couldn't wait for the next shots of the tower. I barely remember the actual movie because I was so interested in the idea of a tower so tall. The reason I am saying this is if I remember correctly the tower was 135 floors. This is just wonderful that we have ( and get to watch grow ) a structure that is going to be much taller! The Burj will overtake that 135 levels in just a few days. Bitchin time to be skyscraper fans, don't you agree?

It sure is a bitchin' time to be skyscraper fans.

Is that last picture from the morning or the evening? My orientation of where things are Dubai isn't that great when looking at some pictures.

wow, just amazing. so far average floor height=3.6m or 12ft.
this was the normal floor back in early years of highrise 30's ect.

So 16m to magic 500m mark! i think lev135 a typical 4m floor but 136 ,137 and 138 are plant or higher floor-floor so they will be 6m i think?
thus lev138= 508m.? tier12
#incidentaly-burjdubai is now the eventual height of ICC in HK>

I am sure they mean total height including the spire on T101....not just the roof or highest floor.

Yeah, the Burj passed both of those a few weeks back. But I think MetalliTooL is thinking that it'll be past 509 meters before September.

And if it weren't for the mech. floors, it probably would be.

as i mentioned in my post#2494, theres only 4 more floors until it reached tier 12 or 508m. so this will be in July sometime one would think. it has differing floors so the core wont rise as fast as it has been due to reconfiguring.
btw, latest pic of BD is june9
which was lev133/480m.

Joobn, thank you so much for doing this. We definitely all really appreciate it. Not many people are lucky enough to be able to snap a shot of the Burj from their balcony, and I think it means a lot that you're sharing a little of that with all of us.

I love that picture above. It's hard to believe that "The Index" tower is standing in that picture like any other ordinary building but even that is supposed to be over 300m/1000ft. If The Index was going into be in my city of Austin, Texas it would be a HUGE deal.

Gotta love Dubai.

Better yet, unless there are mech. floors around that height, it'll pass the CN Tower soon after that.

Thanks so much joobn for that work. You don't know it today, but you're exactly logging history rising !

I'm wondering, do you have higher resolution versions of your pics ?

for me the day this breaks ALL records will be when it reaches the golden height of 646.5 metres, ie, beating the old warsaw radio mast -- the tallest structure ever built. still a long way to go before it breaks that height!

^yes, even thought the Warzawa mast was a skinny triangular metal structure held up by guyed ropes. but its shear height was amazing. I think the CN Towers 553m height is a milestone because its the tallest "free standing" structure since 1976.Its 30 year reign nearly over.

Looking at the diagram, than we can see that BD has surpassed the roofs of all buildings. Now it is just a matter to surpass those few pinackles left.

Waiting on the moment that a few levels are covered with glass, then we can get a better idea how it will look. In reality it is totally different than on all the renders. Currently it is a strange look, such a high structure with almost no facade.
