442m i think, because its the High obs deck. They should be thinning the next core wall now. by the end of the week we be up another 2 floors and should be able to see it.

Yes they will, you still need concrete for the floors at least in the steel section, also depending on local regulations, it may be needed for stairwells, and elevator shafts.

a) The lower the floors, the cheaper the lease. For Armani, it just might be too cost prohibitive to have high floors, and not make sense business wise.

b) The lower the floor, the greater the square footage. You don't need a large office to work in, living space has to be larger.

b) Safety -- offices are filled only 1/3 of the day, whereas residences/hotel rooms considerably more. If a fire breaks out, you've got a greater chance of the more difficult/higher floors not being occupied if they are designated office, rather than residence/hotel.

B & C I agree with, but not A - EMAAR is the partner developer for Armani hotel group, so they could do what they want, Armani is not leasing the space.

One reason that the hotel may be on the bottom, is that a lot of guests do not like high floors, I spent 15 years in the hotel business, and after the MGM fire, lots of people would not stay in high floors. I am sure that now that is even more so.
