Its the exposed top of a reinforced concrete column. Check photos above. Good false perspective.

news about this project have already stated to appear in the press ..tallest building on the planet among with other new projects that will come after it appears that they'll build a new island bigger than the existing one with some huge towers on top of them..I have to see this happening

With some copied and pasted cranes on top, to add that extra touch of realism.

BTW (I don't know if this has been said before), did anybody of you ever hear of Aeropolis 2001? This is an older, japanese project. The drawings of this 2km high skyscraper complex remind me of the Burj Dubai. Maybe the BD was a bit inspired by this?

Can a Dubai person (I'm looking at you, Imre ) take some good photos of all three sides of the base for me please? I'm so confused as to the progress of it at this point. THANKS SO MUCH in advance!

Okay, as far as I can tell from the recent photos I've seen, the base is done on at least two sides. With that in mind...

Updated chart for 488 meters. Man, it's really just a hair below T101!

The BD`s design is based uppon the shape off a flower and the rest is designed in a way to reduce swaying and making the BD as strong as possible to handle earthquakes and storms.
It has nothing to do with Aeropolis 2001 execpt that they both are huge monsters.
