hi
on the topic of the inspiration for burj dubai - the shape of the current tower is a result of wind dynamics. the flower story is just a last minute addition to add to the flavor of the tower. its just something to relate to context. original form was inspired / derived from dearborn michigan tower by SOM, articulation inspired by local context.

But why are they starting the cladding at the eightteenth floor of the building and not at the bottom?

that would mean to be finished by end of 2008 they need to place at least 72 panels a day to be done on 31st of December
