I think we are over 50%...
If you check the slide on official burjdubai site it shows the 4th mech floor at +/- 450m but we know that it is at +/- 400m

Sears tower is accually 1 foot taller then BD right now...Sears tower is 442.something, say 442.3m and 1451 feet, Burj Dubai 1450 feet. So we have to wait probably 1 day, mabey today it will surpass Sears lol.

p.s. i would really REALLY like that link to the presentation, can't find it!

The presentation I screengrabbed says it's 441m at level 124.
The poster next to the side of the building on the pics above says it's at level 124.
What's there not to agree on? Do you think the architects don't know the height of their own building when it reaches a certain floor?
None of us doubt that that presentation is official.

ps. whatever happened to the photos of the Adrian Smith that chap was going to retake in the daylight so we could read them without messing our eyes up. There was a photo showing the floorplans for each floor and supposedly one for floor 170 or something - what happened to that?
pps. has anyone been able to record the Burj Dubai Discovery doc - I'd be interested in trading. Please PM me. thanks.

wasnt too hard to find the presentation link:

http://www.fbcdubai.com/mag/Pages_04...i%20Conference

it was on the ssp site (much easier to go back through their archives as all in one thread) all i had to do was check the dates i screengrabbed them (28th November 2006) to find when the pics (and link to presentation) were first put online.
What's kinda weird is that the presentation is still there as:
1. the bandwidth demand that it being publicised on these 2 sites must have caused.
2. the fact that Emaar and everyone else is so dam secretive about the height (surely they would have sent a cease-and-desist order to the site if it shouldn't be there - corporate secrecy and all that) - yet here are something as good as the blueprints for the top of the building and heights of the top tiers!

ps. What's silly about the ssp site though is people are complaining about too many large pictures of the Burj Dubai, duh - what are they bothering to go to the thread for - just to chat? You folks here are much better

Sainz, it will be the WTB in 67m (around 20 more floors?), and the world's tallest structure in 186.8m...

You should call up Besix and inform them that they have built it crooked, in case they didn't notice.

i dont think the structure could take 1000m

i reckon they are having problems now with the lower floors being under engineered

i bet they are getting a lot of "twisting" motion with the way the things designed!

but its starting to look proper sick height wise

for me the sears towers has been the tallest building for the past 30 odd years

the petronas towers are a bit of a sad joke in my book and were never the tallests even the taipai 101 isnt really as tall as the sears its almost as if its got a bit stuck on top

so the burj in my eyes this week is becoming the worlds tallest!

great stuff. one hell of a structure. didnt think i would see somehting like this in my lifetime.
i reckon the floors above 162 will be labelled but there not "official" floors. well maybe some are now or .we may just have to wait until it gets built. to see number of floors etc.
cheers
