A joke you say?? well perhaps you should do your research before moching. if all goes to plan we will be getting the pinnicle - 288meters, heron tower - 242 meters, 122 Ledenhall - 225, riverside south - 235, north quay - 216, heron quays west - 214, north quay tower2 - 203. and the Shard - 308meters. so as you can see plenty.

^yeah, these days Dubai has redefined how tall bldgs are.
Maybe we should compare heights of buildings to yard stick-Burj Dubai?
so how tall is your tallest? oh it makes tier8 (T8) on BurjD. lol
Tier 6 is Sydney''s height limit! would you believe.

It is just amazing, I get impressed by how things are going in Dubai. Is there any other building in the world expected to break this record? Calatrava is going to do a big one in Chicago but I do not think that will be higher that this one...

well the normal way is the large tower crane hoists up a smaller crane (recovery crane) in pieces and this crane is assembled . This crane is then used to lower sections of the large crane which gets dismantled by a few riggers. After its down, the smaller recovery crane is dismantled and hoisted or lowered on to roof by an even smaller portable crane and the recovery crane is dismantled into pieces and taken down in goods lift.the smaller portable crane is then pulled apart nad also taken down in goods lift. This procedure seems to work ok.

Wonderful building. This area is near 80km from the emirates earthquake location.Won't you think the earthquake of 4.2 on the richter scale reported in Oman same can have considerable effect on the Al burj in the near future?Dubai is close to a tectonic plate.

No. A 4.2 wouldn't damage a skyscraper even if it happened directly under it. From Oman, you wouldn't even be able to feel a 4.2.
