I must have been stoned that I didnt spot the formwork at 140 floor. But better L140 than 139

And height update!
Current floor: 140
Current height: 507.3m

Thank you Irme and Altin D

Just wanted to thank you both. Your photos and dedication need to be celebrated! No hype, just awesome pics.

I have enjoyed reading these forums for a few years. Was lucky enough to see the building in March from the window of a Emirates 777, when we took off from Dubai airport and seemed to make a turn directly above this amazing building. It took my breath away.

I live in South Melbourne and can see Eureka Tower from my house. I can't comprehend how a building 2.5+ times its height will be like.

Once again on behalf of all the lurkers, we salute you both.

Those are not stairs, that's the rail for the external lift.

thats an old elevation of original 705m tower.its now superseded. the newer design is 100m higher and has more floors but ob deck is larger and lower in the tower with access to roof of tier11 which is lev124 or 442m high. its no secret.

Your questimates were never far from realitySeems a bit low, only 507.3m for L140. I dont think the mechanical floors were lower than the ones before. They were always 3 levels high.

Burj Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, will usher in a new era of skyscrapers. Although its final height is being kept a secret, it's conservatively estimated it will reach 818 metres. Some tip it will be 940.

Burj Dubai will break records for height in a way not seen since the Eiffel Tower, which on completion in 1889 was nearly twice as high as the next tallest structure, the Washington Monument. It will be hundreds of metres taller than the Warsaw Radio Mast, which at 646 metres held the record as the world's tallest structure until its collapse in 1991.

But Burj Dubai may not hold the record for long. Another Dubai skyscraper, Al Burj, is slated to begin this year with a rumoured height of 1.2 kilometres. More tentatively, two other kilometre-tall towers are planned in the region: the 1001-metre Mubarak

al-Kabeer in Kuwait and a 1022-metre tower in Manama, Bahrain.
