Hey Krazy, look at Cullwulla's photo just two posts above yours. This building is clearly taller than Sears. What about Skytower's precise updates, go to Skyscraperpage or Dubaimegaprojects and there you will see a height figure that TRULY exemplifies the photo two posts above. This building is 482m or 1582 ft. I don't believe mid 1400's, that was a while ago.

BTW, there are still people in these forums who hold to a precise "808m" height marker. Read Adrian Smith's interview by Skytower on Dubaimegaprojects and there you will see that NO final height was decided or may even be known. It could become 850m for all we know or even higher. We don't know at all at this point so there is no number to go by.

To the top of concrete it is believed to go 586m. We do not even know that for sure. Let's wait till floor 156, the supposed 586m height and see if concrete pouring stops or continues.

Something strange....according to dubaimegaprojects the observation deck is at level 124 and 440meters while the so called official height on his website was something way above. Or is he using emaar's numbering here....

He is making it though for himself to let others believe...altough i still think he has a lot of inside knowledge about the project.

Thanks joobn nice pic. I counted 124-125 floors. Seems to me like one side of formwork is at L124 and other side on L125. Maybe they are lifting the formwork right now?

Source quote : Based on this height, the total number of habitable floors is expected to be around 162. However, on the project's official website, an interior graphic of an elevator panel shows floor numbers up to 195. A more recent article by building subcontractor Persian Gulf Extrusions states a final height "over 940 metres", or at least 3,084 feet

Awesome new picture, 2 sides of the core are raised meaning day 2 of the 3 day cycle, by tomorrow the next one will be raised and we will have 10 visable floors above the 4th mech levels, with another 3 ontop, making it level 125 i think.... 14 more floors to go untill the 3rd wall is to be thinned and thats at level 139 (tier12).

I miss you too! I don't have a lot of time at the moment although the site is updated 2-3 times a week. I'm not a fan of one line posts or saying things for the sake of it......so as the saying goes.....if you've got nothing interesting to say.....don't say anything!

No that's true, I'm going on the general concensus for a change.....the last info I had was at L142 at 517m for the ob deck but that is the same as what was planned for the 705m version so who knows, I have since changed it on the website. If I conflict with EMAAR, people will only say it's wrong....in time we will know soon enough!

On the Today Show (US) this morning, Matt Lauer was in Dubai doing a broadcast from the roof of the Burj Al Arab hotel. He showed the Burj Dubai off in the distance. It looked A LOT more impressive than in pics I've seen here. Seemed much taller with the whole skyline.

By the way...I'm new here. But a long time reader of the forums.
