Maybe I missjudged the perspective: Sheraton or Radisson? If the latter, it should be the boat of the Hotel and serves buffet not more expensive then in the Hotel itself.

Burj Dubai is now officially the tallest, man-made structure in the world. The tower scaled 510 metres to beat the Taipei Towers that stands at 507.3 metres.

Burj Dubai is now officially the tallest, man-made structure in the world. The tower scaled 510 metres to beat the Taipei Towers that stands at 507.3 metres.

Official sources engaged in the construction of the world's tallest tower told The Gulf Today that they have reached the goal in terms of the building's height.

Although the height of the skyscraper has been kept under wraps, it is believed Burj Dubai will end up somewhere between 705 and 950 metres. When completed, it will have between 154 to 180 floors.

Construction for what is set to be Dubai's landmark structure began on Feb 1, 2005 and is set to be completed in June 2009. Being constructed by Samsung Corporation, the tower is designed by Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings and Merril.

The tower is the centrepiece of the Dh73 billion Downtown Burj Dubai Project of Emaar.
"NOT" the tallest structure - their press release is inaccurate.
I'd be insulted if I was Canadian.
It is only the tallest building yet to be finished.
The CN tower is a taller "structure". And an aerial is technically a structure too. They should put out their own press release to say "we are STILL the tallest structure" ... for the next few months.

Not that either. More like "taller than the architectural top of any building."

That's right... today CN Tower still holds the title of tallest structure on earth. I think they went confusing, the Taipei 101 is just the tallest building.

if its 510m, it has 2 free standing towers to surpass being 540m Ostankino tower and 553m CN Tower. Also 527m antenna of Sears tower. then it has approx 30 x600m radio/tv masts in USA,then worlds tallest mast being kvly 629m.
afterall that it will be tallest man-made structure.
its great how its getting into the 500's now.

No. Burj Dubai is not a building yet. It only has about 3-4 inhabitable floors, so it is no different than the CN Tower in that the majority of the structure is not used to shelter human activity (loose definition of "building"). And even calling floors inhabitable just because they're enclosed with cladding is a stretch.

So BD is taller than the tallest building in the world, but it's not a building yet.

Another milestone it will surpass is the 609.9m Petronius oil drilling platform:
