I was under the impression that they were not going to build the original building they had in the first concept renders of Aj Burj, and that it was going to be multiple different shorter towers...

Only what I heard from some of the other members though, does anyone know if this is true or not?

You are getting confused becouse of some towers to be build nearby by what is called Al Burj Real Estate Co.

Maybe Burj Dubai is not complete, but here is this from BurjDubaiSkyscraper.com:

BTW, I met the owner of this car. He was very nice and said that he paid 1.4M AED for the plate. Just the plate, not including the car. His brother paid 1.5M AED for F 95.

Here is a nice pic of the cladding. I think the brickwork is for the mechanical floors. IIRC it took them 5 months to train the workers to lay block properly

I am worried, what if SOM Made a mistake can concrete really behave normally that high up! it looks like it allmost defies gravity ..... wow edit- cant wait to see it in the flesh

I don't really see any defying of engineering posibilities, except maybe the height.

The next milestone is not ostankino tower, but it is the antenna attached to the top of the Sears Tower at 527m I think.

And the next after that would be Toronto's CN Tower @553 (if not wrong)
