Excellent pics Imre considering the weather has been so bad lately with the dust.

I was wondering where you actually park your car when you take close up shots. I'd like to take some at night. Does security have anything against tripods?

Thanks,

You can park front of the site and you can use tripod as well.

front of the Residences has a good angle and I think better if you are parking there.

Has anyone noticed you can read the tiny floor numbers in this picture:
http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/6...esolt19ya2.jpg

It appeass they've skipped 137 on the numbers due to the double-height floor (probably due to the elevators being 2 floors tall and needing 2 floors) - the 2 floors of the elevator probably fit in that one 5m? tall floor!

Also it appears they must be pouring for floors 140 - 142 maybe at the moment... and it looks like they've finished that mechanical floor - so they should be able to race up the next 22 floors or so to the top of the concrete structure. The amount of concrete and especially the amount of rebar (that doc said they use less rebar the higher they go) means they should be doing lots of 2-3 day cycles per floor...

yes, we mentioned that last week. weird stuff hey? thats why my calcs were lev139 @ 508m but website had lev140 @ 508m instead. the old missing floor in the core trick.
ICC in HK has officially 118 floors but i have plans and there are only 108 actual floors.they miss every floor with 4 in it.
yeah looks like lev142 is coming up which is 516m if im not mistaken.
cheers

Burj Dubai prices climb

The cost of buying into the Burj Dubai has increased by almost 25% in the past couple of months, with prices likely to go higher, Coldwell Banker CEO Hisham El Far told Emirates Today. Residential space in the world's tallest tower is selling for Dhs4,000-6,000 per sqft, while commercial space is fetching Dhs5,000-8,000 per sqft. Another source said prices were increasing as more floors were added. The tower will have a mix of residences, corporate suites and the Armani Hotel & Residences.

Up 25% is quite a hike in a couple of months. We'd assume the developers are quite confident and that sales are going smoothly.

Nope, just kidding!

Yes, according to what I've heard, the standard size for construction crane arms is 45 meters, which makes that wall about 33-36 meters.

The Burj Dubai looks awsome, six floors with facade.

Can anyone find an article on the elevators that will be inside the Burj? I keep wondering if they are going to be custom made for high speeds and air pressured like the elevators in that japanese tower, or is it the taipei 101 tower?
