For the second one I used the Sigma 10-20mm... it does have a lot of distortion but I don't know why I used it.. probably couldn't get all the buildings in.

I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with the top secret PDF's... since Sky Tower has been accused of making stuff up and hiding his tracks in the past, but now his accusers are wowing his recent findings. I guess it's legit now?

As far as it looks, this stuff appears legitimate. Of course ANYTHING can be faked but it would be a hell of a lot of work. My views, which I have stated, about the whole "TechE" thing are not going to change; I did a ton of research on that and you all know where I stand. But that doesn't mean that this stuff isn't legitimate. Unless I find evidence that it is faked, I will assume it is real.

i think no one wants to comment on skytower's findings as everyone is realising that a) they are indeed authentic and b) someone is going to face serious consequences for publishing such sensitive info.

I wouldn't be surprised...If I were the mods I wouldn't let any of it directly displayed on the boards...let it stay on Skytower's computers in case the wrath comes down from on high. I must say that I'm a bit surprised that he admitted to breaking into their servers using an identity that he has many time cross referenced to his "real life" identity.

Design#1 560m June 2001 (proposal)
Design#2 705m May 2003 (approved)
Design#3 808m Aug 2004 (re-approved)
Design#4 916m Oct 2005 (rejected redesign)
Design#5 1011m Mar 2006 (re-approved)
Design#6 942m Nov 2006 (time approved)
Design#7 818m Feb 2007 (currently approved)

Spire design still not finalised...but looks it will be there abouts 818m (from building reference 0.000m) or 833.2m from zero ground datum (1.31m above sea level and point of measurement for the final measurement for the record books)

Oh.....I've just bypassed the mainframe again (pesky firewalls really slow things down)....just setting myself up on the project management list of round robin emails (encrypted obviously as a carbon copy of a known bigwig at EMAAR) so they kindly deliver the updates to me...rather than me have to keep hacking in all the time!

I'm now listed on the Burj Dubai Board of Project Management!!!

Man...I love my new job

that is correct; topping out refers to the concrete for the building which has only 10 or so more levels to go, at which point the steel spire erection will begin.

Man...I love my new job

so this building could have been 1011 m but why they lowered the height? due to the problems on the lvls 18,19 or 43,44? or why?

wow, so it did creep up to over 1km? i think 818m is more realistic.you mentioned the 833m height? will Emaar & CTBUH recognize this or will 818m be official height?
