Gobot , my friend, I'm from the U.S.A.,
I'm just a bit confused, why, we, one of the richest nations in the world, is having such a hard time to rebuild any tower to replace the World trade Towers knocked down by two median passenger planes ( not 747's ),
and this city of Dubai, to tell you the truth , for about a year now, I've been hearing about this fast growing under construction city with more than 100 tall towers over 300 M under construction with Who's money and how they got so much other than Oil , which we all have , but have to pay the price for anyway.
But still to my knowledge, I still can't find this city on a world map, and that's the truth.
Please tell me where to pinpoint this city and some background history of it's country and airports, weather, and any fears of Terroists.
also how high in feet is 818 M, please.
Thanks

You can quote his post and compare what's there with your "garble".

Basically: the_video_code_here remove the spaces and you have it.

the_video_code = MFsdiMC07-c

The "garble" you posted is the "html" code for embeding the video on a website (including MySpace or Facebook) but not on a forum.

Vanhenrik, I know L142 was supposed to be 6.2m high and L143 is supposed to be 4.0m high and I know that when they do L144....that too is supposed to 6.2m high.

However, when I get my heights thay come from the GPS readings that are taken every day.
That's when I know what the deviation is...some are 4.04m or 6.17m....so over 140 floors what was designed on paper at these heights can be out by 2 or 3 meters.

Get the timing wrong by 2-3 days and measure from the "building datum" to the "last floor", instead of to the pinnacle of construction and you have your descrepancy growing between the two.

The other site has the same pre-determined heights that I have but uses them when a floor is finished so it's not very accurate.

My measurements are precise down to 0.2mm

ok end way is meney here say it isn`t right !
end one of them is bikes on http://www.burjdubaiskyscraper.com/

if i say like this i hope you are right !

I'll have to wait 25 years until it reverts back to being mine outright.
I've bought it as 25 way fractional ownership. I've sold it to 17 people in x 2 week fractions, 1 x 12 week and 1 x 4 week fractions.
After 25 years it all comes back to me. I'll retire then at 55 and enjoy one hell of a view.
I'll only get 2 weeks of the year for maintainance at the moment!

hi, so when BD hit lev141 it was 512m,
lev142=518m (6m floor)
lev143=522m (4m floor)
lev144=528m (6m floor)
so its now lev142 at last count? thus 518m?

It is the basement of the tower that will be used as parking, but currently for material storagge. The author mentioned it in the article.

^when they do typical floors it can be as fast as 3 day pour/core/rise. but when core reconfig happens, its lows down to 7day cycle. or more.

one reason among many is that the rate at which the laborers are paid is much much cheapter in dubai than in the states, making the total money spent on the building significantly cheaper there

and google tells me that 818 meter equals 2683.72703 feet

Hello everyone! I've been following Your thread for 3 months now. Really impressive. One remark here, though. Really no intent to sound ignorant, but upon my last visit on the official Burj Dubai website, I clicked on the rendering of the Burj Dubai to the right, and there's this popping-up image of BD against the rest of the skyscrapers (the already existing ones and those under construction), and what struck me, is that Burj Dubai clearly goes past the 800m mark. Would it imply, that it's indeed DESTINED to be 818m tall that You guys've been speculating of? Or, it's done just for the sake of representing the sheer gargantuan gap between the structure AND all the rest?

P.S. I recently watched the Youtube video on the one time tallest radio mast, near Warsaw, Poland (646m+). It being in my mother tongue, I'll be more than glad to post some nice data on it I found there (why it collapsed+vital stats) in a couple days . Seems a bit ironic, but the tallest structure in Poland now doesn't exceed the meagre 231m. Not even close to emulate the mind-boggling 646+. Cheers!

Hi all.

The tower festival lighting question has been asked a few times. Here is what they are going to have - unless they revise it.

I think it has to do with in the US profit is king, and Dubai is being built on ego. Im not saying all these Dubai buildings wont be profitable.
