Theres one really obvious reason, look at a pic of the building, is there anything missing?? anything at all?

That's what I read all the time but there must be a better reason. Perhaps some economical factor.

It should technically be possible to get the concrete as high as one would like.
Why don't they pump it up in several steps, just like an you have to use more than one elevator to reach the top of a skyscraper? Or why don't they pump it up faster? Or why don't they mix the concrete somewhere half way the tower instead of on the ground?

A steel structure is more suited for the slim top of BD because for the same strengh it occupies less (floor)space than concrete.

Oh, I must've been mislead by everyone saying the cladding will defiantly start in time to meet the completion date. Silly.

BTW I took my pictures exactly from the place where the red arrow points. It is parking structure of the blue glass building in front.

There were two Bentley Continental GT and one Ferrari F360 Modena parked on the ground floor alone ... and the access road isn't even paved

The blue arrow indicates the other place that I often use to take pictures of this monster.

the Burj Dubai may not have the title for tallest occupied floor level because of MOSCOW Russia Tower is supposdly going higher and the floor height is going to 640m so that beats the burj dubai at 624m. but i have a feeling the burj dubai will push the heightest floor higher
