Imre: Accounting for small improvement to their present rate of 40-50 panels/vertical section/day we should very soon approach this rate indeed.

Moreover, it seems they were preparing a third cladding section above the upper one. I remember noticing pulley rails at higher setbacks.

I guess the cladding is to become soon back on track. And judging by the domino effect it seems to have on various installation delays (e.g. elevators) I guess it better be !

Very nice graphs styloboy too !

[edit: changed "site" to "section" or "vertical section" since a section has several sites (typically 3 (?))]

On the cladding there is a 15mm adjustment rail to keep the units plumb; but once they are set in place there is only a 3mm expansion joint per unit once the 'packers' are inserted into the mullions and transoms.
Between the cladding and the floors themseves there is a doubled back DPM that adds to 6mm in total.
The expansion will only be what the DPM will 'Give'...which is probably less than 1mm.

The Burj Dubai looks better everyday. Imre is always finding good angles to take pictures. Excellent work Imre.

Its getting awfully slim up the top there, how much further can they go? I can't see how they will get to over 800m.

Its not so slim at the top at all. I saw in Skytowers PDFs that tower cranes arm is 55m long. Now compare this to core side wall! And one wing has still to reach up to 5th mechanical floors. So it will gain some size in future few months. Burj Dubai is more than double as wide as my house at floor 140!

Vanhenrik told me that it is like 1 1/2 per day or that if they do it faster, it could be like 2 per day^, so if they start doing the clading with 2 floors per day, the cladding could be finished in 3 months or 4 months, like to 140 floor

It will by definition become the world's tallest structure long before it becomes the world's tallest building...

won't count on it because the building has 40.000 panels and even with 100 panels/day it will be 400 days and not 3 months = 90 days
