Vanhenrik, I'm not trying to insult, I am honestly trying to be your buddy when I say: "and" is the word you use to connect nouns, not "end." End is when something is over - to end something means to stop doing it or turn it off.

About Burj Dubai: I know that typically the steel reinforcement is just left sticking out of the concrete so that another portion can be attached to it. Then they pour concrete around the joint. Perhaps they do that with BD, but again I don't see steel sticking out...

If you want to find a lot of great videos about architecture of all sorts, Youtube.com is the best place to find it in my opinion. When I looked up Dubai on there I got a LOT of great videos.

Wow, as big as the Burj looks right now, that really gives an idea of how huge the Spire will be in Chicago. Thanks Alloy.

Ahh...that's a shame Henrik, you've changed it from "I am a single 27 year old gay from sweden...." to "I am a single 27 year old guy from sweden...."

I'm quite dissapointed now.....I thought I was in there for a moment!

My question is could the Burj Dubai be built any taller because look at how thin it is geting to be! I don't think they can go anymore higher other then maybe 5 or 6 floors.

They are only going a handful of more floors.

...But then they're starting the steel structure.

CS is much more elegant and more beautiful, as you can see on the pic!
Just put spire on top of CS, and it will also be higher than Burj Dubai

It is quite amazing that the BD will be many hundreds of feet taller than the much newer CS in Chicago. Don't think Chicago wasn't thinking of re-taking the title - it says a lot that they couldn't put a plan in place to do it.

With the sub-prime issues in the US, and the existing world record debt they are holding, wouldn't be surprised if the CS experiences some 'shrinkage'
