To CUL

Hey culwulla, i just tried to improve your diagram abit because i found some flaws in it, hope you can see what i was trying to do, i didn't wanna label every single one so i just drew in black the outline of where the building should be. hope this helps.

*EDIT* improved picture, ive added a correct core width (in cmparison with finished width) and added the new core wall wings in a darker orange

*EDIT 2* Added core thinning

Very nice. Maybe Cul can add some of those changes to his next full diagram.

I like the design but don't like it's magnitude Swaying around on a height above 500 meters doesn't seem like able to me!

Hmm, clever wording on that sign -"Lost time injury". Sounds like a paper-cut, or something - does it actually PC wording for "number of people died", or "number of dead foreign labourers"

Reminds me of some of Bush's very cleverly named initiatives which actually have darker meanings...
"Clean Skies" weaker than previous legislation (declassifying Co2 as not a greenhouse gas)
"Healthy Forest Initiative" - logging incentives!
"Patriot Act"... you get the idea

Lost Time Injury is a common term used all over the world. A lost time injury is just what it says, an injury severe enough that the injured employee is unable to work for a period of time. A paper cut is not a lost time injury (unless it's a really bad paper cut), while losing one's arm would be. In any case, it's not a term unique to Burj Dubai or Dubai.

I'm just thinking, when they reach, let's say 160 floors, how lon will it take for a material to go up there from the ground. Are they going to pump the concrete from ground to the top floor? I just got this playing in my mind when I saw the picture in Ember's post. This will be one fantastic landmark once finished.

There is a second conrete pump higher up, cant remember where, tier 10 or 11. and concrete is looking to finish at 586m although i reckon they should push it to 600m.

600m concrete + 150m steel + 68m spire = 818m tower.

You mean the floor will be at the height of the tip of the giant spire on the Freedom Tower.
