Hmm wasn't it 447m?

anyway regarding what hollie said, 80m to go after surpassing T101 for 3 weeks could jolly well mean, going above 600m

I just wonder how the floors themselves are poured. I understand the process of the vertical formwork, but how is it done with the horizontal floors. There must be some kind of "tube" where they pour the concrete into. But then how do they get it off again and "through" the new concrete floor to the next level?

Great ones Imre. The crane is gone. 2 thirds or the core are at 147 floors which is540.9m! One third is still at 146 because they couldnt build until crane was there. Next level is already another setback on the other wing. Nice progress on the cladding also. Cladding started also on that setback

yes i thought i saw 147 floors too. fark. doesnt stop.
gattberserk. your prob right. im sure ive written 445m, 447m, 450m 460m so on. after yourve posted its height a dozen times it becomes confusing.lol
anyway Burj Dubais concrete section is a shit load higher then anything previous.
btw, its just surpassed the 540m Ostankino tower! only 1 more self-supported structure to go, that being CN Tower.

I just studied the info Fury posted and voila - now I know how high every floor is and so also how high BD is at every floor.
As I said in one of previous posts, at L150 it will be 555.3m 2m more than CN Tower. Just great!!

I think ,first they will fill the lake around the Oldtown Island , I saw there some partition.

Around the Burj Dubai is still difficult because that is a construction road of the Burj and the Dubai Mall.

It seems like the lake would be about the last thing on their minds, if they still plan to open before 2009.

The height is rather constant for the rest of the concrete section just add 4.8m every level except for 155 which measure 6.4m

L150 is a nice level to be in becoming the world tallest free standing structure on land... Still now we should start to celebrate for its 2nd position already...

Hope the topic will change to World Tallest Free-Standing status at lvl150

How clean will this lake water be. Will people be able to swim in it without getting cancer?

not for swimming , just decoration

this lake not too deep, 1-1.5 m but if they will join with the creek , will be good for fishing

Burj Dubai is looking great as the facade is getting installed. I am imagining how overwhelming the structure will be once facade is completed.
I wish Dubai government made regulations to pay the workers a fair sum of money for working in such extreme conditions.

I'm afraid that isn't true at all. It's been all over the media, that they keep the workers almost as their slaves. Some of them get so low salary, they can't even pay the costs of getting there arranged by some internatonal company. They work and work but it's not enough. That's not the best publicity to Dubai since it's so rich and booming.
