The real amazing visual I imagine is the John Hancock on top of the Sears Tower - Amazing!

Perhaps BD should place a life-size inflatable king-kong on it near the top, to show how tiny king-kong would look on it

Try this guys! I made a little photoshop for you.

i think you have a point with the height perspective. because when you look at bd you cant comprehend the true height with its surrounding towers. but in toronto when you exit the union station the cn tower is amediatly in your face even with 900foot buildings around it.i also think you wont appreciate the final at all unless you get your own view from up there.

Yup - I do believe it. It is just the building context that results in a loss of perspective. Maybe the CN Tower's profile, in addition to placement?

And check out this crazy ...

Smaller, yes. Tiny, no.

Might I also remind you that the view I've already had off of the CN Tower's skypod is from a higher elevation that the BD's highest observation level.

Competition aside, I can't wait till my next visit to Dubai!

when i went up the skypod you could really fill the sway in the tower , it was quite frightening and exciting, the view was breathtaking, cant wait for bd to finish so we all can get a view and then compare even though the total height is no contest.

The artical by Columist; Christopher Hume shows how much of a Moron the man is. Does he know that people hated the Effel Tower when it was built. Most people wanted it taken down.

Just a few weeks until we say so long to the CN Tower's record. Stupid question... I wonder if people will be allowed to base jump from the Burj Dubai like they do off the CN Tower?

There is the Chicago Spire and then there is "the" spire. Man has wanted to build Burj Dubai for hundreds of years, it's the classic monolithic monster from our dreams.

I hope so, but they would need to ensure they clear the wider base (that shouldn't be an issue really).

You never know - the builders might make this happen sooner rather than later by throwing the passports of all the poor workers.
