Not next year, before this coming new year.

L160 mech is schedule to completed by 12 dec 07. Which mean Tier 18 might be completed before 31 dec. That height from the top of T18 is already 643.3m just 3m below Warsaw mast.

Therefor i am confident just before the arrival of year 2008, BD might already made history in man-kind architecture as the tallest man-made ever built.

Anyway now its just another 40m exactly for the concrete to go before steel structure took over completely...

It will definitely be, at least the tallest structure on land.

I believe there is a high chance that when u first arrive in Dubai, it has the title of the world tallest structure on land. When you leave it has the title of the world tallest structure that is standing on earth.

Just a possibility.

However the tallest-ever title might be after 22nd, so yeah december is the exciting period for BD and the history of man kind construction.

don't be giving people ideas, we don't want that to happen
Besides I would have thought people would tire of looking at so many 300+m supertalls going up, Dubai will officially be the capital of neck aching complainers

It is for a train or metro. Not supersonic, if t does not go through the sound barrier.

I think i see L149 on this cropped picture of Syedaouf. That would be 550.5mm But I`am not 100% sure if it is already at that level. Too bad resolution

This thing looks so much taller since I last saw it but it's only grown a few floors since I last checked the thread. The last photo makes it look huge.

I think the most amazing part of the BD is the fact that no steel is being used outside of the concrete (aside from the top). I dunno if any other supertall is like that.
