No there are a lot of masts above 600m. The tallest free-standing structure only for now.

The Illinois base compared to the Burj.

I think the Illinois was trangular at the bottom, while the burj is flower shaped. Well almost. I think the Illinois would have been much cooler than the Burj because of its incredible height, but the Burj IS reality.

When will they start adding more to the facade?
Is that when the concrete tops out?

And how many floors till the concrete's done?

cladding work is already really fast, don't think it will speed up much in the future.

but however....only 6 concrete floors more to go

I like the pic with the Burj Al Arab in the background....very nice shot. Amazing that another icon has been surpassed [but not forgotten by any stretch]. It is very interesting to see this tower passing all the records.

thanks for updates imre. just gets more incredible every day.
I suppose its kinda like the Egyptians watching the Great Pyramid of Cheops rise skywards,2600 years ago. That 150m pyramid would of been a site to behold, especially when the shiny white marble cladding of the Pyramid shone on the desert surrounds! blinding passerbys.god like presence.
