ive measured again from floor plans and realised the tier12 or lev124 ob deck floor is 36m wide not 46m wide. from there up its reduces to 30m wide.
interesting that the outdoor terrace on lev124 is approx 19m x 8m or about 180sqm.

CULWULLA, i just noticed that the spire is about 5mm off to the left, when 'im assuming it should be in the exact middle. perhaps just shift the steel section over slightly so it lines up ?

I've been following this thread for a while now, amazing stuff. For some reason though I don't like the cladding, too blue and shinny. (Probably just the pictures.) I'd like to see it black! Enormous and evil like the tower of sauron. But I guess that doesn't go down well in the heat.

Another nice diagram Cul

What is with the Emaar sales center model ? It only has 2 podium levels. You would think that Emaar of all people would have an acurate model.

Here is 2 other models of the new downtown that show the 3 podium levels - from cityscape - ?

I also have 40 shots of 12 different tower only models that all show the 3 podium levels correctly.

Have a good day all.

Vanhenrick did nothing wrong to say this compared to lots of the fodder pushed in this thread that has little to do with the topic.

I'll pay my respects right here. I feel we should all pay our respects for those lost their lives on Sept 11, 2001 and also those who lost them anyplace else on earth through terrorism. I'm not an American but I stand beside America on Sept 11.

They are so high to extend the range off the stations reach.

to be exact: the area that is within reach can be calculated very easlily as
area = (height of mast) * (circumference of earth)
so a 600m (0.6km) mast serves an area of 0.6*40000 = 24000 km2.

So now Burj Dubai is the 56th tallest man-made thing ever on earth!

But if we include the height of the attached cranes(to be fair as they are man made structures too), assuming the total height with cranes to be 610m, it is now the 6th tallest man made structure on Earth!

Can you please provide the list of these structures with height for us to follow up the ranking of the Burj?

the crane arms on BurjD are 45m with about 10m of tower, so the tip extends approx 55m above core box. thus current height of crane tip would be 610m or 2000ft!

worlds tallest structures
all in USA
kvly tv mast 629m /blanchard/Nth Dakota
kxjb tv mast 627m /galesburg/Nth Dakota
kwtv tv mast 624m /Walnut grove/CA
26 more masts at 609.5m
20 more masts at 600m-608m.
3 more masts between 582-597m.
no more masts above 550m.
So burjD has a 50 or so structures to surpass to be undisputed tallest man-made structure.
