So the current height of the cranes is about the same as the eventual height of Chicago Spire and Russia Tower? WOW!!!

worlds tallest structures
all in USA
kvly tv mast 629m /blanchard/Nth Dakota
kxjb tv mast 627m /galesburg/Nth Dakota
kwtv tv mast 624m /Walnut grove/CA
26 more masts at 609.5m
20 more masts at 600m-608m.
3 more masts between 582-597m.
no more masts above 550m.
So burjD has a 50 or so structures to surpass to be undisputed tallest man-made structure.

Pretonius compliant and Warsaw is the last obstacles i believe, hence a total of 54 more structures to really make history

Anyway just realised the 3rd tallest mast has the same height as T17

Distance + geography.

North Dakota is open, sparsely populated space. A shorter tower wouldn't reach that many people.

Re: 9/11, the WTC1 / WTC2-4 threads are probably the more appropriate place for that.

I'll pay my respects right here. I feel we should all pay our respects for those lost their lives on Sept 11, 2001 and also those who lost them anyplace else on earth through terrorism. I'm not an American but I stand beside America on Sept 11.
what about paying respect to the over 100,000 civillians killed in Iraq and Afghanistan since then? Do u think the only people who matter are 1st world people?

It's hard to believe/imagine/fathom that this building still has 820 feet or 263 meters to go.

A simple bit of respect on my part and you turn it to world politics.

What about every other war in history?

Lets just end this discussion so we don't have anymore sore babies.

My mistake for posting this in a forum FULL of kids.

Yup you are watching history rising my American SSC Brother!!

This building is like the ESB in NY. It is a benchmark for all superscrapers to follow if they wanted to beat the BD.

Cheers

I didn't mean Totally full of kids or else I'd be calling you and I one. Let's just say James, Half full.

It would be amazing to see this building at it's full height. They were toying with increasing the height of the concrete section. I wonder if the top of concrete being at floor 156 or so is etched in stone or could there be a little bit of a surprise at the end. It will be fun to see as it creeps up 6 more floors. The original height to concrete was at 586m or 1922 ft. Let's see if this number is "concrete" in truth.

One this is for certain. The absolute final height of BD is still a secret so I really won't hold stock in any publicized figure. The final height will be determined or revealed at the very very end.

Lotta fun, lotta fun

Y'all talk about the Warsaw mast, now I get a bunch of Polish advertisments on my page. Priceless.

Any ideas on what the price range is going to be (per night) for the Armani Hotel? It'll probably be a couple of years before I visit Dubai.

I'm guessing it'll be in the same range as the Burj Al Arab hotel, which is currently advertising 2 bedroom suites at 7,200 Dirhams (around $1950) per night.

walli- theres a 2000ft or 610m height limit in USA. not sure why 2 masts got through higher? maybe somebody may know?
thus the height of SPIRE in Chicago.
ALSO REMEMBER all those 2000ft masts would fall down if they didnt have guyed wires attached.lol
