It's hard to believe that people will be walking on the floor that's higher than the tip of CN's spire.

I bet if you threw a penny off the top it would kill someone if it hit them.

What wrong with the feet, its isn't even accurate. CN tower is 1815ft and 3 in.

Anyway nice progress, however in most pictures it just look as if each of the floors is only 1 or 2m high, since there is no common object to compare it at the bottom floors "like truck etc"

Sorry if this question has already been asked, but why they're leaving the mechanical floors unclad?

You don't clad mechanical floors in glass; it doesn't allow for ventilation.

It's remarkable how different the tower's top looks after tier 13. Instead of a 120-degree turn, the new setback is done right opposite of the one below. For the first time the original core-size is truncated as the burj gets thinner. And the openings now appear to be squarish windows, although very big ones.

Next, tier 15 will start and soon the steelframe will be introduced to replace the concrete in tier 16. And only 4 more floors to go (and the finishing of some floor wings below) for the two cranes. As far as I know, a new crane will be placed outside the walls for the upper floors. Or can they use one of the recent cranes for this job?

And will this change take long or will it happen as quickly as at the SWFC?
Anyhow, I'm curious how Burj Dubai will look then.

Old Town Resident, thanks for the great update! One thing though.. Does your camera have any manual settings? Next time, can you set it down one stop? The pictures are a little light. If you can, excellent, and if not, keep it coming!!!

Oh, and I guess Imre does an alright job, too.

They multiplied the height in meters x 3.3 instead of x 100/(2.54*12)

It was probably an American

Yes. Both the CN Towers upper observation deck and the SWFC observation deck are higher than the one on Burj Dubai.

You can somewhat get a sense of it in the photoshop'ed picture with the BD and CN Tower together.

Doesn't it seem strange that after the designers went to so much trouble to break so many height records that they chose to put the observation deck at such a "low" level. Why didn't they put it on the top floor?

I would guess the observation deck at level 124 is a *public* observation deck, I would imagine there will be a paid observation deck at a higher level.

If you stay at Hotel 6 you go to level 124 if you spend the night in the BD hotel you go to level 155 or so ....
