What is the height off the Burj Dubai right now?? 450 Meters??? if so

I realy would love to see the Burj Dubai reach the 1011 Meter mark but the 818 Meters would do the trick just fine enough

Cheers

It's good to have a diverse array of minds in one place. But I still don't know who could deny Dubai. To each his own I guess.

its not exactly accurate btw... for starters the photo was taken at a different perspective than my edited parts, and its 840m because i couldn't be bothered changing it once i guessed how much 818m would be.. but im only out by 22m so meh.

Man, it's tall...

I was worried about the floor area on the upper floors (the main roof is at about... 620 meters?), but after comparing the Burj to one of my local "giants," the LeVeque Tower, I'm pretty confident about enough floor area...

By the way, the LeVeque is 169.2 meters.

Ok. Looking at this drawing and comparing it to the progress as of may 5th.

A- progression of technical floors don't match. I matched first set (18-19) to 4th set. If I had matched first set with second set the upper technical floors would be lower in real life than in the artist-s rendering.

So either the perspective and lens dostortion are responsible for this or this rendering is not accurate, but it's the one that looks the most recent.

I'd say that definitely there must be an optical distortion, and it matches with the top tech floors being less spaced in the photo, because the point of view is closer, hence the distance to top is significantly different than the distance to base, and top parts appear smaller.

Whatever the case, I've matched the upper technical floor, because I just want to know where we ara at on the artist rendering. What height fraction of this rendering we're at.

B- There, the total height of the rendering is 4464 pixel on photoshop using the rule, whereas the photo goes up to 2315 pixel (all approx, +/- 6 pixel, so 0.2%. Fair)

If we take the height of 486.15m claimed by dubaimegaprojects.com for 2315 pixel, we obtain 937m for 4464 pixel.

If we take a more conservative 454m (like that, blam.) we obtain 875m total.

Even conservatively, far from the 808 meters.

Vincent.

Here is the pic (care, BIG, 1MB):

How about a great big HD rendering to shut you up!

http://www.worldarchitecturenews.com...0rendering.jpg

The steel section should start after the conctrete footing pinnacle between L159-L164....and we're no way near that yet!
That's when the steel goes up to L206 where the levels are only 8m accross (bigger than most peoples houses) and another 12-14 un-inhabitable staircase levels to L214-L216 before the pinnacle!

1011m anyone?

yeah, nice try ambertoahse but waaaay too tall. as vinouz says its nearly 900m, .
also that diagram from ssp is wrong, the whole top bit from 600m is inacurate.
if where going with 808m plans, the enclosed bit is 739m and then theres a 3 tiered spire.that diagram has roof at approx 650m with stepped spire above.
anyway we all just speculate.
kurakura-construction so slow? dont you mean fast? cant go any quicker at 1 floor per 3days

The higher it goes the bigger the diminishing effect of a new storey.
coz the percentage of height increase is getting smaller by the day with the same rate.
