Dubai Boy, I've been investigating this issue a bit and:
- 1) The image comes from this page at inspect-ny.com, and represents shrinkage cracks in a NY building.

- 2) After being contacted about the issue, the owner of the aforementioned site has sent a complaint to the moderators of this forum and asked if I could transmit the following statement

"

In case my prior note was not quite clear (as I was a bit hasty in
writing),
the photograph shown in the posting at
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...2#post15525422
Is

1. copied illegally from my website and is a violation of U.S.
copyright
laws, and was indeed taken without my permission

2. appears in its original location in an article about identifing
types of
cracks in concrete, in this case a harmless shrinkage crack
in a poured foundation of at two story residential property in New York
state. That article can be seen at
http://www.inspect-ny.com/structure/...ionCracks4.htm How to
Distinguish
Shrinkage, Expansion, & Settlement Cracks in Foundations
(just scroll down the page)
Which is a chapter in my online book
http://www.inspect-ny.com/structure/...tionCracks.htm The Foundation
Crack Bible: How to Diagnose & Evaluate Foundation Cracks

3. my photograph has been used by the writer "Dubai_boy" in the posting
with
serious inaccuracy in two counts:
First, the photo is not of the BurjDubai building, it is a photo which
I
took personally, of a residential property in the U.S.
Second, the photo is of shrinkage cracks not structural cracks

It is unfortunate that this writer has no respect for copyright laws,
other
people's property and rights, and worse, no respect for truth and
accuracy.

I must add that I have never seen the Burj Dubai which was being
discussed
and cannot comment on its condition except as I have just cited above.

I'd be grateful if you could post this reply in the forum and link it
to the
inaccurate and illicit use of my photo.

I got so p***ed off by stupid statements lately that I reacted quick. Still, you may want to apologize to the photo owner .

^ive made a scale model. there are plenty of plans on forum you can scale off to construct model. It can be made simplistic or if you want detail it becomes alot harder.

diagram update
i threw in SWFC to show comparison.

Interesting question.
They look about 150mm.
Does anyone on this forum know information or know where to get info about the structural design of the Burj?

It is incredible the amount of concrete in this building.

Also when will the room fitouts start taking place? I see the structure is nearing completion and the facade is on its way. If it doesnt start soon we could have what looks like a finished burj dubai on the outside inhabitable on the inside for up to 2 years

No way those floors can only be 150mm. The floors in my 3 story house are even thicker. I say those floors are at least 250 to 300 mm thick.

About the interiorworks, they've started it directly after the first pieces of cladding where placed. Once they removed some windows for some reason and we saw a painted appartment whith a kitchen
