Sears towers observation deck on lev103 is 412m, some 30m lower then Burj Dubais 124st/442m deck. CN Towers skydeck is 447m, so its just higher but its tiny and an additional charge after the intitial 330m deck.
SWFC will have a great deck at 450m?. So burj D ob deck is up there with the highest and may even have a premium deck at 600m+.
as for the height?LOL
yes somewhere between 705m and 900m. i reckon.

Please dear god let the facade turn out like shown in the renders on the previous pages.Man it looks just OMG!!!!!!!!!

So they will start with the facade in 3-4 wekks good to know.I cant imagine that this tower will be even clad.I only know it without any part of cladding except those test ones.but i am 100% sure that SOM has did a great job.

LOL at how we started with 705 Meters in height off this beast off a building to iff it is possible 1011 meters!!! I realy believe that this building will be 818 Meters in height

My new question is: What for height will this thing be?? 705? 750? 808? 818?
850? 940? 1011?
Make your gues

Cheers

very very detailed plans - in fact a 30pg slideshow have been shown by one of the contractors at a conference. That slideshow was then put on the web (which is a suprise given the secrecy over the final height etc). I then found these plans on google news - the plans clearly show the top 200metres with heights of each setback - and the final height as 808metres.
I have no reason to doubt it. Lower than this and the building ends too quick. Anything more would be ludicrous given that there is:
1. nothing proposed outside Dubai that's higher
2. no rentable space / occupiable floor possible above 600/700m due to the narrowness of the building - possibly nothing but space, mechanical, communication stuff above 560m?
3. wind shear would make the the top 200m likely to snap off given it's height to width ratio!

Finally the day has arrived!!!!!!!!!!
First real panels were put up today by AA/FEA after a brief ceremony this morning...what a relief...its gonna be a stunner with the facade. Hold your breath skyscraper lovers...the mother of all towers has finally decided to dress up

A few panels were put up at level 19 at the south wing (wing C), on its west looking face. Pace will be slow initially, but the contractor will push the pace up real hard in the days to come.

I love the Burj and i love Dubai for daring to do this masterpiece.
