say your sat there at your office desk on the 155 floor would the water in your glass be sloshing about or would it be gently moving or would you notice no movement at all

I would have to say the Durj Dubai by far. Not only it's a much larger structure. The Burj also uses huge ammounts of steel rebar and beams; The Burj may exceded the ammount of steel the SWFC used for all we know. the Majority of the Steal used is hidden by concrete.

This thread is going to hit a million post since moderators are trying to bash those who suggest setting new thread up.

Maybe we should try to set the new record in the net for the longest thread.

Fury has a very nice modified of the plan, however I am still wondering if the steel and concrete section will remain the same.

the lake

One question about the lake
is it going to be fresh (doubt it) or sea water?
and is it going to be linked with other lakes and canals in other surrounding megaprojects? as like businessbay and stuff?

First boat arrives on the Burj Dubai Lake, the water is fresh water and today was crystal clear on the test flooding.

L153 is supposed to be completed today, hence the current height should be officially 569.7m.

God! If no one realised, tomorrow is supposed to be the very day when steel structure is starting to get erected, however did anyone see that happening soon?

Another astonishing fact is that why is the crane extended? Does it mean the rumor that concrete portion has been increased is getting more and more real?

I'll hope you're right that they'll continue with pouring concrete. That would be a good argument that the tower could become higher than 900 meters.

I agree. the lower crane was extended about 2 or 3 storeys long. That means that the higher crane easily could reach level 160.

According to the schedule, L154 steel framework should be erected on 6/10 to 18/10. Dont forget that L154 and 155 is the combination of both Steel and Concrete while 156+ is then fully steel.

I dont see people mentioning anything about the begining of steel construction or starting to even store those steels around the base.

Secondly the date to dismantle core form should begin in 8/10, meaning that one of the cranes will be removed as a result, but we don't see this happening also, instead it has been extended!

Base of the steel might begin at L158, however the fully steel section will only be expose at 160th floor, as mention by one forumer who have the inside news of BD, that the highest concrete floor will be L159

This is getting REAL!!!!
