Hey

I agree with Gattesberg. Everybody very blinkered here! It WILL not be 818m. it will be higher! Hence the secrecy.

Was looking at the last few pages of this thread.

I'm commenting on the height of this building.

Height to top of concrete......Nobody knows for sure. There have been talks and evidence that it may end up 170 floors.

To top of steel structure.....the 170 floors may in fact be calculated for this portion but again only a few people know of this. Certainly not any information posted on this huge BD thread.

Most information is purposly leaked by Emaar who knows that forums such as this exist and are trying to peg the SECRET height of this building.

To spire.....this one is tricky since two figures, 808m and 818m were leaked by those building this tower. None of these figures will prove true. The height is a secret and these people are going for absolute maximum height the design will allow.

The concrete section could be going higher, the steel section could be redesigned to go higher, and the spire could also go higher. Any one or combonation of all three could occur.

I'm hedging that Burj Dubai will be significantly higher than the low 800m range floating around in the net. The final height I believe will be in either the high 800m range....say 875m or so to perhaps 925m. At this point I feel that the concrete section would have to be extended to the mid 600m range if BD will surpass 1km.

Firstly, let's see how high the concrete section goes before we can speculate on the final height of the tower. Remember here that even if the concrete section reaches no more than 600m or so, the steel portion can be extended for increased height.

Lotta fun, lotta fun.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

This is an exciting time to be following the Burj's construction progress. We're finally about to find out whether it'll follow the leaked plans or not.

what a pity!
We loss construction equipment order for this tower construction. The contractor chose PEGA construction hoist (elevator) for material and person lift.

Read the PDF attached in the link below that I posted a few days back the wording in red font in item 1.2.2 "A movement of 150mm is possible at (7??M) being the top of the concrete???????????????

This is a document from people involved during design, is the red number that refers to the top of the concrete (not top of spire) a slip of the tongue?

Not possible now to go beyond 700m with the concrete section.

... and the heights figures for 808 and 818 meters were NOT leaked bu Emaar.
