Oops, sorry. That "are you sure" was meant for Hollie Maea.

...Who is right, by the way. There's no way they'd install this much for a test. Plus they've already tested. Plus they've installed the fixtures on three floors already. Enough evidence?

1. "Am I sure."

2. "Why are they going so slow?"

The answer to both of these questions is the same: We received the inside scoop the day that the cladding began This information came from a reliable source who has proven himself in the past to have inside knowledge about the cladding on this building. He said that the first 2 or 3 weeks would go slowly as they got their system up and running, and then it would speed up to the rate that they promised us a few months ago (that is, "making up lost time"). So far, everything he has said has come true (going back to last September at least), so I don't have any doubt in what he says. If you look at yesterday's pictures, you can see they are putting up the clips for the windows at a fast rate. They have also put the rails around at the second set of mechanical floors, I would presume these will be to protect the cladding from falling debris. We've seen three cladding tests on this building, and we know what the tests look like. And it's not like this!

I just had a thought... whats it going to be like cladding BD @ over 500m!?!?

There wont be a raft or much else for that matter between life and ending it as a flightless bird :P

Edit: Pick me! Pick me!

It looks very nice the tower and the hotel is very advanced in the cladding.

Well, let me ask, did you learn the alphabit on the first day of school, then read couple of books on the second? NO of course not.

Have you ever seen another BD, anywhere? NO of course not.

So do you think all of these workers are born knowing how to install the cladding that was just designed for this building? remember, these are the same workers who took 6 months to learn how to do concrete block. Once they train a few crews on the installation, then watch how fast it will go up.

AND for the hundredth time, they DO NOT test cladding on the building, it is done on a test structure where they can control the variables.

I also didn't know that you guys were extending parts upto 5000 posts. You sure didn't make it a clear point.

1000 posts was fine since 500 was too short. I enjoyed a new part to this thread. It was a constant refresh. Now it just rambles on until something significant comes about.

I'm with James Hawkwood on this.

Overview off the Burj Dubai complex:

A nice but old scale model (no hotel @ the mall):

Weird wireframe render off the BD:

Enjoy

It looks to be a blown up version of the 700m.
