FlyFish i am not a grammEr god because I am not an Englishman in the first place.

Second is that you mentiond that it looked like it is gonna collapse and why the hell do you say that?? I saw that picture and what i saw was a strong building far from to the point off collapse.

Third thing is that it isnt even done yet. As a result off that the foundations and the building are under 50-65% off their planned loads. So they are even stronger then needed....

So my question is: Why do you think that it is gonna collapse??

I don't think that SOM and Emaar want a collapsed WTB on their project list, so it's safe to asume that it's all good.

And the fact that Petronas Tower 2 is not fully occupied has more to do with the aftermath of the Asian economic crisis then with the building itself. Tower 1 is fully occupied by Petronas, so that's a whole different story.

So, I don't believe Korean companies will be able to make a safe and sustainable building in Dubai, in my opinion.

So whats your problem ???
My problem was that he (FlyFish) was actualy thinking that the BD was going to collapse without giving exxact reasons off why it would do so.
Because off that i made a mistake: Start flaming him with horrible things wich i now regret doing it.

The Sampoon superstore collapsed because the owners/managers wanted to make the collumns thinner (for estatic reasons) reducing the lift capacity.
And they added a 5th floor without strengthening the collumns and installed floor heating and heavy kitchen equipment there to make the 5th floor a restaurant floor that was top heavy.

And they dragged the airco acros the roof to a new location after complains from the neighbours.

That was the cause off the collapse: faulty design off the building and misscalculations....

This should be the latest drawing, as the latest rumour was about the 818m final planned height. Nice, and thanks!

Wrong.
Until recently, Korean companies have been able to supply high-quality&cheap LCDs and plasma TVs
by spying on the factories of Japaense companies such as Sharp, Panasonic.

They have been stealing the technologies and techniques of producing flawless LCD panels constantly, with less error rate.

Now, because Sharp(LCD) and Panasonic(plasma) started to produce
their new products in their own "black box" factories in Japan,
Korean companies can no longer spy on them and
now Korean companies are struggling to produce larger inches of TV.

See Samsung's website. Their biggest TV currently available on the market
is 57 inches.
http://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/lcdtv/index.asp

Sharp has recently announced that it will produce 108-inch LCD TV and it is the world's largest LCD TV.
http://news.com.com/Sharp+unveils+10...3-6147881.html

Panasonic is also selling the world's largest Plasma TV.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,12...1/article.html

Although Samsung claims it has developed 102-inch plasma TV,
it is just a demo TV.
it is neither on its website nor actually produced.
LG Phillips, another Korean company, also claims it has developed 100-inch LCD screen, but it is also a demo model and not on the market yet.

Because those Korean companies can no longer spy and steal the tecniques from Japanese companies, their future is dim.
This is all because they all kept stealing the tecniques and technologies from Japan and never developed those by themselves.

It is famous that Samsung stole drawings from Japanese Construction Company Hazama Corporation without
permission and used them when Samsung constructed Petronas Twin Tower 2.

I wish not to rain on any parade here. Even though I feel this building will go over 900m or likely a kilometer this does not mean it will go that high for sure. What I'm saying here is that ANY actual publicized height such as the one above should NOT be taken as OFFICIAL from Emaar or SOM. I clearly read the Adrian Smith interview and concluded that Emaar and SOM are in NO WAY prepared to release any true height figure be it 800m or 1000m or ANYTHING in between. The above photos may have been purposley released to throw of both the public and would be future competitors from planning or making announcements of taller height to steal the spotlight from Burj Dubai.
Take this with a grain of salt.

The actual final height will be what it will be and we will know ONLY at the very end.

BTW, if BD goes 818m or so, I will still be very happy to see this thing go that tall. This will be a great building regardless.

Everyone wants that ZZ-II

Hopefully the full 1011 Meters what Sky-Tower is propably hiding from us!!

But we must consider that this monstrosety, iff increased height to 1011 meters. Is actualy beating his advesary: The tower in Silk City in Kuwait
and stays on power

This thing once started as a "simple" 560 Meters building to the next generation superskyscrapers off heights where the public isnt even thinking about.
The public still thinks in terms off 400-500 Meters + and this building is in the order off 800-1000 Meters. That is twice the height what the public has in mind off recordbeating superscrapers!!!!!

Cheers:
