Weirdo The discussion stopped yesterday and sice then ur the fifth person in a row to tell ppl to stop going off top but in fact the discussion is already done. Don't you think that just 1 comment telling not to spam is enough? Its ironic that u are making ot by saying not to do it (anyway my post is ot as well, but I just wanted to express how it feels)

Ukraine coach concerned about Kiev stadium for Euro 2012

KIEV, Dec 3 (Reuters) - A dispute surrounding a construction site next to Kiev's main stadium could lead to Ukraine losing the chance to host the final of the 2012 European championship, national coach Oleg Blokhin warned on Monday.
Ukraine are co-hosting the tournament with Poland but both FIFA and UEFA have said the construction of a shopping and leisure centre by Kiev's 84,000-seat Soviet-era Olympic stadium would break safety rules by blocking some emergency exits.

Guys please keep this thread warm. As you know many forumers are so interesting in this thread. Plz make new updates.

I also want to say something, after weak 2008 venues and complexes, 2012 will be so different. Bravo to both countries.

Yeah, you are building many +40.000 stadiums although you just need +30.000.

Maybe therefore Turkey will built for EURO 2016 or EURO 2020 more +40.000 stadiums

I think it's much better to build 40k+ though - it's more impressive, brings in more money and leaves behind much better stadia for after the competition.

IMO, building ~30k stadiums [for Euro competitions] are a waste.

I'm not sure if you're right, as in many countries even 30k stadiums will be empty during no-EURO games probably. And as we all know it is all about the money. If on 40k stadium there will be 8-12k of spectators on league games no club will be able to pay the bills...

....but on the other hand 30k is not enough for EURO games

The thread is over 500 posts, shouldn't it be closed and a new one opened?

Infrastructure news: Kyiv will soon build (unclear to what extent) and utilize Siemens trams. Some controversy around it, since LAZ (Lviv Auto Zavod) is coming out with their trams in a few months. In any case, by 2012 Kyivan transportation system will completely replace metro's and trams.

From presentation of the Siemens:

The new LAZ (completely ukrainian engineered, designed and made) tram. Unfortunately only a black-and-white xeroxed pic but it will probably look cool

_____

Donbas Arena continues to rise despite some problems with the Turkish company. Notice their new logo

New logo of "Shahtar"

Dnipro Stadium is pretty much completed

Lviv: the investor of the Lvivian stadium will be known by december 18th. The city approved project plans for:

33 hectares of land to be utilized. Capacity of 33000 football arena. 1200 parking spaces. Three stars hotel for 200 or more rooms. Sport-concert complex with capacity of 7000 or more.

Nice development.

That new logo of Shahtar oddly reminds me of a certain company's logo, located further in the East.

Lol, we actually had a discussion on that in the Ukrainian section. But it's got nothing to do with it, Akhmetov is his own man
